TikTok Shop seller fees: 6% in the US, 9% in the UK, and how they're calculated

Updated Oct 26, 20263 min readBy the Double Éveil team

TikTok Shop takes a percentage of every order. In the US it's called a referral fee, in the UK a commission, and they aren't calculated the same way. Here are the official numbers and an example.

The numbers

United States United Kingdom
Standard rate 6% on most categories 9% including VAT
Lower rates 5% for some jewelry and pre-owned New sellers, some electronics and beauty categories
New sellers 3% for 30 days if the first sale happens within 60 days Reduced rate, details in Seller Center
Base Customer payment + platform discount − tax, shipping included Net sales + customer-paid shipping + platform discount − refunds

Example on a 40 sale

🇺🇸 United States

$40 order: 6% = $2.40.

🇬🇧 United Kingdom

£40 order including VAT: 9% = £3.60.
