Many sellers start with the idea of dropshipping from China. On TikTok Shop US and UK, it doesn't pass: orders must leave from inside the country, fast. Here's what the rules say and how to work with them.
What the rules say
🇺🇸 United States
Orders ship from a US warehouse declared in Seller Center, with tracking that originates in the US. A parcel from China only gets US tracking after customs, too late for TikTok's dispatch deadlines.
🇬🇧 United Kingdom
Sole traders store their stock in the UK, ship domestically and accept returns domestically, and may have to prove the stock location.
Three ways to have local stock
- Your own small stock, at home or with a fulfilment company (3PL).
- A supplier with a local warehouse that ships for you, on time, with tracking.
- Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT): you send stock to TikTok's warehouse, TikTok packs and ships for a per-unit fee.
Key point
"No stock" exists on TikTok Shop: it's the Creator track. The Seller track always means local stock, yours or a supplier's.
FAQ
Can I dropship on TikTok Shop US?
Only from a supplier whose stock is already in the US, with US tracking from the first scan.
What about print-on-demand?
It works if the printer produces and ships from inside your country, on time.
Is Fulfilled by TikTok mandatory?
Reports conflict for the US. Check the shipping options shown in your Seller Center.
