TikTok Shop commission frozen or withheld: causes and appeals

Updated Oct 26, 20263 min readBy the Double Éveil team

A commission that disappears or stays pending is stressful. Most of the time there's a simple reason: a return, missing details, or a policy violation. Here's how to find out which, and what to do.

The possible causes

  1. A return or a refund: the commission is reduced or cancelled.
  2. Missing payout or tax details: nothing can be paid until they're complete.
  3. The seller's settlement period: in the US, commissions usually arrive on the 15th day after delivery, up to 31 days if the seller's settlement period is longer.
  4. A policy violation: US policy says commissions linked to the violation are frozen during the review, and can be withheld for good in case of deceptive, abusive, fraudulent or illegal activity.

What triggers a violation

What to do if your commission is frozen

  1. Read the reason shown in your Creator Health Rating or creator center.
  2. Gather your proof: LIVE recordings, editing files, dated screenshots of collaboration terms, statements.
  3. Appeal through the channel shown, within 30 days of the notification (US). Each violation can be appealed once, and TikTok's decision is final.
  4. Check your Creator Health Rating every week.

Key point

The best protection is keeping proof of everything you do, before you need it.
