10 TikTok hooks to present a product, honestly

Updated Oct 26, 20263 min readBy the Double Éveil team

The hook is the sentence that decides whether someone keeps watching. It must land in the first two seconds and stay true. Here are the ten hooks we work on in our course, and the method to write yours.

The 10 hooks to adapt

  1. "I tested product for 7 days: here's what happened."
  2. "What nobody tells you before you buy product."
  3. "Product for price: good deal or not? Here's the truth."
  4. "3 mistakes I made with product, and how I fixed them."
  5. "Before and after: problem solved in time." (only if it's real)
  6. "Got problem? Watch this before you buy anything else."
  7. "I compared product A and product B: here's what I found."
  8. "You asked me: comment question. Here's my answer."
  9. "What you really get for price."
  10. "The detail that changed my mind about product."

Watch out

A before-and-after hook is only acceptable if the result is real, typical and unedited. If results vary, say so.

The method to write more

  1. Start from a real problem your audience knows.
  2. Add proof you can show on screen.
  3. Write five versions.
  4. Keep the most concrete one.

Hooks to ban

Avoid Why
"This product will change your life" Unsupported promise
"Only 3 left!" (if false) Fake urgency, misleading
"It cures…", "it heals…" Banned health claim
"Make $1,000 a month with…" Earnings promise

Key point

The best hook is a question your viewer is already asking, followed by proof they can see.

FAQ

How long should a hook be?

It must be said or written within the first two seconds.

Can I say "I tested it" if I didn't?

No. Every hook must stay true: a false claim about a product is misleading advertising.

How many hooks should I test per product?

Our method: 3 videos with 3 different hooks, then keep the best one.
