The 3-video test per product: method and tracking sheet

Updated Oct 26, 20263 min readBy the Double Éveil team

One video tells you nothing: it can flop because of the hook, not the product. Our method: three videos with three different hooks for each product, then keep the best. And a clear stop rule so you don't keep pushing.

The method

  1. Pick a product from your list, tested and allowed.
  2. Write 3 different hooks: a question, a comparison and a "what you really get", for example.
  3. Film 3 videos with the same proof and different hooks.
  4. Post them over several days.
  5. Compare in your creator dashboard.
  6. Remake the best one from another angle.

Decision rules

Our method

These thresholds are our working rules, not laws. They stop you from insisting on a product that doesn't take off.

Watch out

Every product video carries TikTok's disclosure setting and a clear disclosure in the video ("ad" in the US, "Ad" label in the UK). No exception for tests.

Key point

The 3-video test separates two questions: "is my hook good?" and "does my product interest people?".

FAQ

How many videos before giving up on a product?

Our working rule: after 10 videos on a product without a single order, move to the next one.

What should I compare between videos?

Views, orders and commissions shown in your TikTok Shop creator dashboard.

Change the product or the hook first?

The hook first: that's the point of the 3 videos. If none brings an order after 10 videos, change product.
